Unlock your full potential with Rapid Transformational Therapy - RTT®
Mental agility is one of the biggest determinants of your success as a professional or business leader. I’m here to help you overcome the challenges you may be facing and empower you to unlock your full human potential and self-belief so you can live your most fulfilling and successful life, both personally and professionally.
Why work with me?
As an RTT® Therapist, these are my areas of specialisation (not a closed list): stress management; performance anxiety; low self-confidence, self-esteem or self-worth; perfectionism; procrastination; addictive behaviours - particularly those linked to stress. I’m not a psychotherapist and therefore do not deal with clinical disorders.
My previous experience as a lawyer in top international law firms, combined with more than a decade already spent as a trainer and coach to lawyers, tax advisors, auditors and business leaders, has led me to a very deep understanding of the context in which my clients operate and the specific challenges facing them. I chose my areas of specialisation based on this experience and in-depth understanding. I’ve also faced some of these challenges myself and have directly experienced the transformative power of RTT® as a client.
I’m also a Rapid Transformational Coach (RTC® Coach). Many coaching clients who opt for my ‘Write Your Own Story’ Signature Coaching Package also choose to do one or more RTT® sessions as part of their coaching journey to address more deep-seated blocks.
I have Certified Membership (Top-Tier) of the International Association of Counselors and Therapists.
Since I’m fluent in both German and Portuguese, I’m able to support you in these languages in addition to my native English.
What is RTT®?
RTT® is a unique, science-backed therapeutic intervention (developed by world-renowned therapist, Marisa Peer) which works with the subconscious mind to achieve deep and sustainable outcomes. Most challenges can be tackled within one to three 90-minute RTT® sessions. RTT® brings together the most beneficial elements of, amongst other things, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Neurolinguistic Programming (NLP) and neuroscience.
RTT® is specifically designed to be delivered successfully in-person or virtually. Scroll down to see an informative and comprehensive video on what RTT® is and why it’s so powerful. I’ve also included an anonymous client case study below to illustrate how a typical RTT session works, particularly in the broader context of RTC® Coaching.
The “abyss”: A client’s journey with RTC® and RTT®
A client - let’s call her Paula - recently came to me for RTC® Coaching because she wanted to take her career in a different direction. Paula reported feeling very excited about the prospect of this change, but kept delaying taking the steps necessary to effect it.
During our first session, she said: “Carla, I’m so excited about this - I’m standing at the abyss of change.” Paula’s unique choice of words immediately made my ears prick up. The Cambridge Dictionary defines an “abyss” as “a very deep hole that seems to have no bottom; a difficult situation that brings trouble or destruction.” Not exactly the kind of thing one would normally associate with excitement.
It quickly became clear to me that the Paula’s subconscious mind was associating terror with the prospect of change - even though she had consciously chosen to make the change and professed to be excited about it. A Rule of the Mind® in RTT® is that the mind can’t hold contradictory beliefs - it simply freezes and there is no moving forward.
In addition, given that most of our behaviour is driven by the subconscious mind, I knew that an RTT® session - as Paula’s second coaching session - would be a good idea to release her from the fear she felt. RTT® is not a prerequisite for RTC® Coaching to be successful, but it can be helpful to unblock more deep-seated issues. Paula agreed to the RTT® session.
During her 90-minute RTT® session, I took Paula through the phases below to free her from the terror she felt and empower her to begin associating pleasure - rather then abject fear - with the prospect of change.
Our remaining RTC® Coaching sessions were then spent visualising and mapping Paula’s progress towards her goal, which - I’m please to report - she has now achieved.
-
After guiding Paula into hypnosis, we explored what could possibly be causing her to associate fear with her career change. She recounted having experienced several situations in her life when she was prevented from taking a decision by someone else (her mother, a partner). She had developed a habit of relying on other people to make decisions for her and ignoring her own inner voice. This was the first time Paula had only herself to rely on for a decision - and she felt utterly immoblised by fear.
-
Applying the RTT Tools®, Paula reached a profound understanding of precisely how her past experiences had been directing her current actions and saw that it was no longer appropriate, necessary or even remotely interesting for an independent woman of her experience and stature - with every possible option available to her - to cling to these outdated and harmful beliefs.
-
Leveraging Paula’s new understanding of her own power, utilising her own vision for her future, and applying the RTT Tools®, we began to instill in Paula new, far more empowering beliefs regarding what was possible for her.
-
Again, utilising Paula’s own vision for the future and echoing back her own positive and transformative language, I made a 20-minute ‘transformational recording’ for her. I asked her to listen to it every day for 21 days, to lay down the new neural pathways necessary for her to act in accordance with the fresh, magnificent and ambitious vision she had now set for her life and career.
